XOMBIE MOVIE ANNOUNCED TODAY

It's official. Dreamworks hearts Xombie. (Yes, that Dreamworks)

In the last 24 hours, news of the live-action Xombie movie has spread like wildfire, scoring blurbs in The Hollywood Reporter, Shocktillyoudrop.com, and even - swoon - TrekMovie.com. My comic book is now officially being mentioned alongside Transformers, Star Trek and Viewmaster.

Line 'em up, country music. It's party night.

"SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK"

Nine months without an update. I'd call that just plain impressve. During said radio silence, things have been uniformly busy. In addition to my work on Transformers, and the ever evolving Xombie theatrical film, I've managed to score writing and directing duties on two new children's mini-series.

Still, while three entire series hung in the weakening lattice of my creative schedule, I somehow managed to squeeze in even more zombies.

Yep. Halo 8 has just announced the brand new Xombie DVD film, Xombie: Reanimated - based on my comic book series of the same name. Production on this will begin in early 2010, coinciding (I suspect) with announcements regarding the live-action film. I'm pretty sure Dirge has conquered nearly every form of media. Once he hits the Xbox, I'm calling it good.

Now then - for those of you in and around the Tulsa area, you are hereby cordially invited to come spend the evening with me at Tulsa Little Theater - this Thursday at 7:30pm. I'll be kicking off the Art Directors of Tulsa speaking season yet again. And there may or may not be a giant robot or two. Check out their website for details. So now you know.

"And knowing is half the battle."

LIFE, THE UNIVERSE & EVERYTHING

Avast! I return with news both inevitable and spectacular. 2008 has been a year of changes big and small, culminating in the December release of one of my all time dream projects - Transformers: Universe. In addition to writing and directing duties, I have been tapped to animate the latest TF series. As a rabid (and often perverse) Transformers devotee, this is probably the coolest job on the planet. Second only to actually being a Transformer, which is not currently on my list of legitimate career goals. Emphasis on currently.

As usual, this is one of many awesome projects I've been involved with this year. The ever-gestating Xombie feature film is poised, anxiously awaiting the green light from a preposterously huge studio. What's more, the complete flash series will be released on DVD this coming March from our good friends at Halo 8, to be followed shortly thereafter by a series of feature-length animated films. In other words; if you were sick of Dirge already - get used to dissapointment.

A few more announcements are, as always, percolating in the background. Check back soon for news on my upcoming comics, toys, and as always, new Transformers episodes.

Autobots roll out.

SAN DIEGO
COMIC-CON 08

Once again, my yearly sojourn to San Diego Comic-Con approaches. I will be lurking around the convention floor, and stopping by a number of booths to say hello. Keep an eye out at Devil's Due, Tokyopop, Top Cow, and anywhere hot dogs are sold. Mostly that last one.

Be sure to grab a copy of eV and/or Xombie: Reanimated while you're there. Additionally, I am featured in the new book Web Comics For Teens, available right about ... here. I will, no doubt, be popping up on a few panels over the course of the Con, and revealing the status on various future projects, including eV2, Call of the Cryptids and more. Emphasis on MORE.

Last but not least, a huge and undying thank you to master rock and roll photographer Jeremy Charles for cooking up this year's press photos. Be sure to check out his site, and feast your hungry eyes on the photos in question. They are available both here...and yes, even here.

CHICKS IN SPACE

Avast! I have re-emerged. The last four months have been indescribably busy, fascinating and educational. In addition to working on my first feature film, I have completed my writing and editing duties on eV: Volume 1. It would be tacky to ask you to pre-order it, so I'll just assume that's implied. Click here!

Xombie: Reanimated Volume 1 has also been released, featuring all 5 issues of the series, all 12 covers, a dust jacket quote by the producer of Transformers (squeal!), and an afterward by yours truly. Needless to say, that page can easily be removed following your purchase. Click here to grab a copy!

The Ultimate Edition Dirge action figure is also nearing store shelves. More news on that as it becomes available.

2008 is shaping up to be a mind-blowingly productive year. Check back for info regarding the film, and the dozen other projects brewing behind the scenes. See ya!

GANKED BY A DECEPTICON

Hi all.  Just a quick post to share the excitement. The industry does have it perks, occasionally.  And thanks to Cindi, George, and everybody involved with the film, I have officially been added to official Transformers Movie LORE.

My name now appears in a secret government email on the Sector Seven website.  Log in to read about (and see video of) my ruthless demise at the hands of a mysterious 'small subject.'  If you're a blind, slobbering Transformers fan like myself, you can probably guess who. Avenge me, Optimus!
